He National Government started a Comprehensive audit process on Non-contributory Pensions for Occupational DisabilityThis review, promoted by the National Agency for Disability (ANDIS), aims to detect fraud and ensure that only people who meet the requirements continue to receive this benefit. It is estimated that between 120,000 and 160,000 people could lose the subsidy in the coming months, due to the detection of irregularities in their cases.

These audits, which began in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aireswill be extended to other regions of the country. Beneficiaries who cannot justify their work disability, have undeclared assets or have formal employment will be among those most affected by the suspension of the benefit.

Who will stop receiving the ANSES disability pension

Those people who currently receive a Non-Contributory Pension for Occupational Disability and do not comply with the requirements established by current regulations will be the most affectedThe main reasons for suspension include possession of undeclared assets, formal employment and presentation of falsified medical documentation. Cases were also identified where repeated X-rays or even those of animals were used to justify disability.

The measure seeks to ensure that state resources reach those who really need them, and not people who have accessed the benefit irregularly.

Requirements to access ANSES Occupational Disability Pensions

To access a Non-contributory pension for occupational disability the following requirements must be met:

  • Not receiving other income from the State, such as the AUH.
  • Not having registered formal employment.
  • Having insufficient income to support oneself.
  • Be an Argentine citizen or resident with more than 10 years of seniority in the country.
  • Not serving a prison sentence.

This type of pension is intended for people who are unable to work due to a disability or illness, and whose livelihood depends exclusively on this benefit.
