“Your job”, a project that promotes youth employment in the country

In a context where the Youth unemployment rate in Argentina triples the national averageand where the iInformal employment affects more than 60% of young people who manage to access a job, initiatives such as the EMPUJAR Foundation become vital.

The Foundation’s flagship program, “Your Job”offers Intensive training in skills and work competencies, and acts as a bridge between companies and trained young people. Through company visits and training in soft and technical skills, participants receive the tools needed to enter the workforce.

Zara’s push: an inspiring story

Zarawith only 20 yearshas come a remarkable way. At 18, she decided to launch herself into the formal world of work, but despite having completed high school and being actively involved in her community, her resume was not enough to get a job. She was president of the student body, a volunteer in organizations, and a social activist. However, When trying to enter the job market, she encountered barriers.

Inspired by her brother, who had had a positive experience with the EMPUJAR Foundation, Zara decided to enroll in the “Your job” program in 2022. During the course, I also studied the Higher Technician’s Degree in Logistics. The passage through EMPUJAR was key to reaffirming its interest in logistics. “My goal is to become Logistics Engineer“, he says.

Thanks to the Foundation’s job intermediation, Zara got her first job registered in a company that manufactures wheelchairs in Pilar. This job gave him independence and the opportunity to move into your own homefar from the humble home he shared with his family. In addition, his professional growth was boosted by the support of his employer, who provided him with a scholarship to complete a diploma and included her as a representative of the company at logistics exhibitions.

Today, Zara not only thanks EMPUJAR and the company that believed in her, but also He hopes to motivate other young people. “I want them to know that opportunities exist, and you have to go out and create them,” he says.

Tangible results of the program and a vision for the future

In 2023PUSH managed to insert 519 young people into formal jobsand for 2024 has the goal of achieving 600 jobs achieved. In its 11 years of experience, has trained more than 4,300 young people and has consolidated a network of more than 1,500 volunteers and 550 committed companies.
