The Moscow prosecutor’s office organized an investigation into the death of two people as a result of an elevator fall in the President Hotel in the center on Bolshaya Yakimanka. This was announced on January 13 by the press service of the department.
“During the audit, the prosecutors will establish all the circumstances of the incident, assess the fulfillment of the requirements of federal legislation, and, if there are grounds, will take prosecutorial response measures,” — the message says.
Currently, at the scene of the incident, the work of law enforcement agencies is coordinated by acting. Zamoskvoretsky Interdistrict Prosecutor Elena Malikova.
The fall of the elevator at the President Hotel became known on the evening of Thursday, January 13. Two people died as a result of the incident. The head office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that as a result of the incident, workers who were repairing elevator equipment were killed.
According to Izvestia, the dead are citizens of Armenia — Khaik Khazaryan, 32, and Artak Bezoyan, 31.
The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on the fact of the incident on the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Investigators and criminologists are currently working at the scene.
