There are only a few days left to enjoy the snow in the main ski resorts of the country. This season the weather was good and covered all the mountains in intense white. The Chapelco ski resort in San Martín de los Andes announced that it will keep its doors open for skiers until October 13, thus extending the season thanks to the quantity and quality of the snow. In addition, it will offer significant discounts for the next three weeks with offers and discounts on various services. For the last week of September, it offers a 20% discount on lift passes and 30% off ski and snowboard equipment rentals. Meanwhile, in October there is a 30% discount on passes and on weekdays children up to 11 years old enter for free. In addition, there will be a 20% discount on ski and snowboard classes and 50% on equipment rentals.

“We are going through a season very good, above expectations since we are replicating the number of skiers we had last year, which was a record year,” explained Juan Pablo Padial, commercial manager of Chapelco.

“The snow of course did its job, as we always say it is one of the only factors we cannot control. We extended the season until October 13 due to the number of people there and the excellent snow conditions, and snowfall is even expected this weekend,” added Padial.

Until when do the ski resorts of Cerro Castor, Catedral and La Hoya open?

The ski resorts Patagonian ski resorts are ending a season with a good influx of tourists. Cerro Castor in Ushuaia will be open until September 29. For their part, both Catedral, in Bariloche, and La Hoya in Esquel will close the season on September 30. Starting October 1, the Cathedral cable car will be operational for pedestrian ascents, given that the snow is still covering the hill.

“In Catedral we opened earlier than expected because there was a lot of snow. This early opening, together with the 6 and 12-installment financing plans for some services, allowed us to have a good season.. For example, in July there were 16% more visitors than in 2023,” they explained at Cerro Catedral.

In La Hoya, the quality of the powder snow has made it a highly sought-after destination for families and especially for those who are taking their first steps in skiing. “The season’s results are positive, there were more than 6,000 new people this winter, many of them from the Province of Buenos Aires, CABA, Chubut and Brazilians,” said the ski center.
