90% of confirmed infections reside in jurisdictions in the Central region, mainly in CABA (75%) and the province of Buenos Aires.

What to do in case of a suspected case of monkeypox

If you suspect the presence of the disease, the Health Department recommends that you first remain isolated until you have the results of the laboratory analysis.

If the disease is confirmed, it is essential to maintain isolation until the lesions have fallen off and a new layer of skin has formed.

If permanent isolation cannot be complied with, it must be implement measures to minimize the risk of transmission (cover lesions, use a well-fitting surgical mask covering the nose, mouth and chin, avoid contact with vulnerable people, avoid close contact with other people, ventilate the rooms).

Throughout the days of illness, it is also important to keep a record of the history, characteristics of the condition, information on close contacts and notify them within 24 hours.
