Doctors in the Dominican Republic named the cause of a heart attack in Russian TV presenter Mikhail Zelensky, who died on January 11 while relaxing. This was announced on January 15 by the press secretary of the Russian Embassy in the Dominican Republic, Alina Ivanova.
“According to the conclusion of Dominican doctors, Mikhail Zelensky died on January 11, 2022 due to a heart attack caused by a chronic disease of the cardiovascular system,” she said on the Rossiya 1 TV channel.
Mikhail Zelensky passed away on Tuesday, January 11, at the age of 47. On January 12, the Russian Embassy in Venezuela (concurrently in the Republic of Haiti and the Dominican Republic) confirmed the information about the death of the journalist. It was reported that, according to preliminary data, the cause of Zelensky’s death was a stroke. The journalist is planned to be buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery in Moscow.
On January 12, the press service of the embassy noted that local doctors tried to save Mikhail Zelensky – he was given first aid, including resuscitation.
Mikhail Zelensky was born on September 7, 1975 in Moscow. In 1999-2001, he hosted the Vesti program on RTR and Kultura TV channels. From February 2001 to February 2011, he hosted the Vesti-Moscow program. Since 2006, he has been the host of the linear broadcast of the Russia 24 TV channel.
