Snowboard instructor dies in Sochi mountains

At one of the ski resorts in Sochi on Saturday, January 15, a snowboard instructor from Voronezh died. This is reported by the Telegram channel “Typical Sochi” with reference to eyewitnesses of the tragedy.

According to them, while skiing, the man fell into a snowdrift upside down and was covered with snow. Witnesses of the incident dug it up and tried to provide first aid, but to no avail.

According to Izvestia, the emergency service was also called. Rescuers carried out resuscitation, but it did not help. As a result, the snowboarder suffocated.

The deceased instructor Sergei D. rode that day as a freerider on an unofficial track, making a free descent in front of the audience.

Currently, Sergei’s friend is raising funds to transfer the body to Voronezh and help the family of the deceased.

Earlier, on March 27, a skier disappeared near the Aikuaivenchorr mountain in the Murmansk region. On the same day, rescuers managed to find his body. The snowboarder Herman Weber, who, as part of a group of three, was riding on an unequipped slope, turned out to be dead.
