Skater Solovyov spoke about his condition after being discharged from the hospital

The beaten Olympic figure skating champion Dmitry Solovyov on Saturday, January 15, spoke on Instagram about his health after being discharged from the hospital, thanked for his support and shared his congratulations on the Day of Figure Skating.

“I comply with all the prescriptions of doctors, which also include the minimum use of the phone,” the athlete wrote.

Solovyov also noted that the injuries received during the fight affected his speech, but he is confident that he will soon cope with these consequences.

Dmitry Solovyov, 32, was beaten on the night of December 21st.

The athlete stood up for his girlfriend, curler Anna Sidorova. According to the girl, her friend asked strangers for a lighter, in response, they began to insult her. Solovyov tried to intercede, but the verbal skirmish later turned into a fight.

As a result of the incident, the athlete received various injuries and was in the hospital in moderate condition. After examinations, the athlete was diagnosed with moderate brain contusion.

Two hooligans were detained on the same day in hot pursuit. The detainees turned out to be students who came to study in Moscow from Chita. Administrative protocols were drawn up against them, and then a criminal case was opened under Part 2 of Art. 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Intentional infliction of moderate harm to health.” Both defendants have been arrested.

On December 28, the skater was discharged from the hospital. He is going to rehab. According to Solovyov’s representative Elena Bolotova, if the doctors decide, then the role of the figure skater in ice shows will be easier: there will be fewer complex tricks, lifts and jumps in his dances.
