THE UBA Film Festival launches its second edition

The budget crisis does not seem to prevent – ​​for now – the continuity of the university film festival, FIC-UBAwhich announces its second edition next week.

With less deployment than the first, instead maintains the expected level: a figure from abroad, two venerables of Argentine cinema who will receive the title of honorary doctor, primary attention to local authors, various competitions (international, Ibero-American, student), free public activities in the Aula Magna of the 3rd pavilion of the University City, the Gaumont, Cosmos and Cultural San Martin. It begins on the 15th with the premiere of “Paradis Paris”with Monica Bellucciwhich has just been released in France and will present its own author, the comedian and filmmaker Marjane Satrapi (“Persepolis”), luxury visit of whose work a retrospective will be offered.

She will also open a seminar where they must participate on successive days Daniel Burman (which in those days premiered the comedy “Transmitzvah”), Demián Rugnawhich will also provide an outdoor horror retro, Leo Sbaraglia and Diego Lerman (“The man who loved flying saucers”) and the producers of Little Spain, who bring the documentary “This excessive ambition”about the last tour of Tangana. All of them will explain “how they did it,” and perhaps also say if they had any money left over.

Special paragraph, tributes to the usual star Mirtha Legrandkey figure of the golden age of national cinema, and the producer and director Hector Oliveraactive since 1953, whose most renowned film, “The rebellious Patagonia”1974, will also be the reason for a tribute. Between them they have 190 years, almost all of them dedicated to cinema.

In addition to the FIC-UBA, October has other festivals.
