Within the rankings, THE Ranking is extremely demanding, weighing more quality indicators and with a strong inclination towards so-called ‘world-class’ university models,” highlighted the rector of the Universidad Austral.Julian Rodriguez.
This distinction was something that Institutional Reputation Unit of the Austral University had as its objective, and had been working towards it. “The correct affiliation of scientific production, and the deepening of the quality assurance mechanisms that are at the base of all solid performance in academic indicators,” they assured.
For her part, the vice-rector for Academic Affairs, Lourdes Perea Muñozstated: “In the Latin American region, there is a sustained commitment from some prominent institutions to move towards certain quality standards that are common in the most prestigious universities, especially in the northern hemisphere. Finding ourselves among the five best-positioned private management universities in LATAM is a very eloquent achievement.”
Furthermore, he pointed out that the biggest challenge is “achieve the balance between this search for excellence and other institutional objectives such as commitment to our particular environment and interdisciplinary research, among others.”
This was the 21st edition of the ranking, which on this occasion had 2,092 universities rankedcoming from 115 different countries. Ranked universities increased significantly, 9.7% this year, compared to 1,907 last year.
This was the first appearance of Universidad Austral in the annual rankingin which it was located in the 1,001-1,200 band. For its part, Argentine participation has doubled compared to 2024, with seven participants.
“In a challenging context for all Argentine universities, both public and private, it is encouraging to have achieved this positioning. We are interested in ensuring that the knowledge that arises from investment in research reaches the entire society effectively, particularly to the most vulnerable sectors,” concluded Rodriguez.
