The governor of Chubut maintained that there are differences with the 2025 Budget and ruled out a coalition with the ruling party

The governor of Chubut Ignacio Torres spoke this Sunday about the electoral agreements between the PRO and La Libertad Avanza (LLA) and considered that “it will be a decision for each district.” He also maintained that he has “differences” with the Budget 2025 of the government of Javier Milei and who will defend the position of his province.

Torres’ statements also included questioning the President both for his actions against legislators with a critical spirit, and also for the attack on the public university, after the veto of university financing.

Ignacio Torres denied an electoral alliance with the government of Javier Milei

The governor of Chubut expressed today that in the PRO there is freedom of action and endorsed the decision that each province will make in relation to the agreements with the ruling party, thinking about next year’s elections.

“It is going to be a decision for each district. We have a very heterogeneous front, wanting to maintain a canning towards all the districts with an agreement in La Rosada is impossible. We are going to have to analyze it, it has to do with a discussion of electoral convenience and identity of each front at the provincial level” said Torres on radio Rivadavia.

In that sense, he clarified that Chubut will not enter into an alliance with the Government. “I don’t imagine that there is a decision that will condition all the provinces. If there are conversations, that is not our case, but it is likely that in some provinces there will be an electoral agreement with the government,” he said.

He also stated that the leaders of his space should be cautious and intelligent when making a decision that “does not compromise districts that do not think alike,” and rejected the possibility of negotiating based on the usual logic of “give and take.” of traditional politics.

“The PRO was consistent with the discipline of the bloc, even with some internal discussions, but you have to have common sense. It seems that it is not allowed to think differently. If you think differently you are a traitor to the country and if you think the same you are a hero in the Parliament” launched Torres, with criticism of Milei.

“There are issues that will be addressed because we believe it is necessary to do so, and there are others that will not, because we do not agree, and it will be substantiated,” summarized the Chubut boss.

Ignacio Torres spoke about the 2025 Budget

Regarding the 2025 Budget, Torres made it clear that there is “enormous peace of mind in being authentic” and that “when I agree I raise it, when I don’t, we face it.”

“There is not going to be a parliamentary coalition. We are going to have a meeting with my differences regarding the National Budget,” said the governor of Chubut about the “law of laws.”

For his part, he stated that it would be a mistake for Milei to surround herself with condescending advisors and appealed to “the humility of listening to someone who does not agree or has a different perspective.”

Finally, he was optimistic about moving forward with the Patagonia Project, which consists of the idea of moving the Federal Capital to the Viedma-Carmen de Patagones Federal District.

“The decentralization of the capital is one of the most important discussions that must take place, obviously within the framework of a tax regime that is friendlier to production and work and more federal,” he concluded.
