The bride is back. The acclaimed wedding night horror comedy Ready or Not returns for a sequel with the lead actress Samara Weavingwho is no stranger to the genre and who participated in The Babysitter Netflix and the movie Scream of 2022, among many others.
Production company Radio Silence returns with the fan-favorite film centered on a children’s game that turns deadly, along with Searchlight Pictures, which will distribute the horror film. The film collective, also known for films such as Scream VIis composed of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett, Justin Martinez and Chad Villella.
What Ready or Not is about

It follows a young bride who discovers at her wedding reception that her in-laws have a peculiar nighttime gaming ritual that turns into a version of hide-and-seek with predators and prey, all because of a deal her in-laws made with the devil.
The low-budget film, in which they participated Adam Brody, Andie MacDowell and Henry Czernycost only 6 million dollars. However, it grossed $28 million in the US, becoming Searchlight’s biggest release of 2019. The film was predicted to gross only between $8 million and $12 million, so its success was a pleasant surprise and it was praised for its social commentary and its unique plot.
Busick and Murphy will write the sequel, although details of the possible plot have not yet been made public. Returning producers include Tripp Vinson, Bradley J. Fischer, William Sherak and James Vanderbilt. Villella and Tara Farney will executive produce. On Searchlight’s side, executive Cornelia Burleigh and Richard Ruiz, vice president of production, will be on set and report to co-heads of production and development DanTram Nguyen and Katie Goodson-Thomas.
