Following a request from the Chamber of Exporters, the Ministry of Economy resolved an exceptional measure to decompress the maritime situation
Through Resolution 68/2024, the Ministry of Economy, through the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, decided to grant a exceptional automatic extension of 120 calendar days to the Affidavits of Foreign Sales (DJVE) involving agricultural products not exported in bulk.

The measure seeks to mitigate the severe logistical difficulties faced by international maritime transport and that are affecting the ability of Argentine exporters to meet their commercial commitments.

The resolution responds to a request made by the Chamber of Exporters to denounce the situation that global maritime transport is going through, aggravated by geopolitical tensions.
The Chamber of Exporters of the Argentine Republic had warned about the increase in freight rates and lack of space on the main routeswhich has considerably affected local exporters. The delays and cancellations of arrivals in key ports of the country, such as Buenos Aires and Rosario, have generated contractual breaches and complications in supply chains, in a scenario similar to that experienced during the pandemic and the tensions derived from the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Measures to protect agricultural exports
The Ministry stressed that this exceptional extension will be extended to from the expiration of the DJVE boarding periodis a direct response to the difficulties faced by exporters of products such as bags or packages not transported in bulk or in containers. The objective is to allow additional time to fulfill business obligations and avoid further damage to the agro-export sector, key to the Argentine economy.
The measure came into effect as of this publication.
