Crimea will work out the issue of establishing air links with Syria

Crimea will work on the issue of establishing air links with Syria via Sochi, Anapa, Yerevan. This was announced on Tuesday, January 18, by the head of the republic, Sergei Aksyonov, during a conversation with reporters.

At the moment, a government delegation from Syria is in Crimea on a two-day visit. As part of the meetings, the first meeting of the joint Russian-Syrian working group on trade and economic cooperation was held.

“There is no direct logistics. We do not have flights Damascus-Simferopol. Without aviation, it is quite difficult to organize trade, but the possibility of flights through Sochi, Anapa, Yerevan is being studied. A number of proposals are being considered. We are ready to discuss them. There is an understanding of how to do this,” Aksenov said.

In November 2021, Russia lifted restrictions on flights to the Bahamas, Iran, the Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Slovenia, Tunisia, Sweden and Thailand. Prior to that, from September 21, it resumed flights with Spain, Iraq, Kenya and Slovakia. Flights to Turkey and Egypt have resumed from the international airports of Pskov, Magadan, Murmansk and Chita.

At the same time, from January 14, 2022, Aeroflot airline resumed flights between Moscow and Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia). Flights are operated by Boeing 737-800 aircraft once a week, departing from Moscow at 1:05 am on Fridays and from Ulaanbaatar at 7:55 am on Saturdays.
