The poet Anatoly Naiman was hospitalized with a massive stroke, he became ill the day before, during a presentation at a conference at the Higher School of Economics (HSE). His daughter, journalist Anna Narinskaya, announced this on her Facebook page on Tuesday, January 18.
“Yesterday, when Anatoly Genrikhovich Naiman spoke about Mandelstam at a conference at the Higher School of Economics, he suffered a massive stroke. He only managed to say a few sentences,” she wrote.
According to Narinskaya, the forecasts of doctors are disappointing, reports the Moscow City News Agency.
Naiman was born in Leningrad on April 23, 1936. Currently lives in Moscow. The poet, translator and essayist is the author of a number of books in verse and prose, writes REGNUM.
Nyman was Anna Akhmatova’s co-author on translations by Giacomo Leopardi and literary secretary, wrote the book “Stories about Anna Akhmatova”. He also wrote a collection of poems “Sentimental March” and poems for the songs of the children’s film “The Amazing Boy”.
