The Panorama program of the Berlin Film Festival 2022 will feature the world premiere of the Russian drama Produkty 24 (the international title of the film is Convention Store), directed by Mikhail Borodin. This was reported to Izvestia by the Metrafilms company.
“Products 24” is a drama based on real events. This is a story about modern slavery, taking place in front of thousands of indifferent bystanders.
According to the director, the premiere of the film at the Berlinale is a great success, and the Panorama contains the most relevant works for the viewer. Borodin hopes that the film, which tells about the “Case of the Golyanovsky Slaves,” can draw public attention to the problem of slavery.
Previously, Borodin made several short films, including “I’m Normal” (participant in the competition program La Semaine de la Critique, Cannes 2018, Kinotavr Film Festival 2018) and “Registration” (participant in the competition program Odense Film Festival 2020), as well as the documentary film COTTON100% .
On January 8, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation reported that two Russian films – “Ghostly White” directed by Maria Ignatenko and “Nearby” by Tamara Dondurei – became participants in the 51st International Film Festival in Rotterdam.
The Rotterdam International Film Festival is held annually in the Dutch city in late January and early February. He is one of the flagships of independent auteur cinema. In 2022, the film forum will be held from January 26 to February 6.
