Moscow police detained a man who was seized 5 g of hashish and more than 120 g of amphetamine. This was announced on Wednesday, January 19, by the press service of the Moscow Internal Affairs Directorate for the Central Administrative District of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
The department said that law enforcement officers during a patrol on Ovchinnikovskaya embankment stopped a 30-year-old man to check documents. He became noticeably nervous when he was asked a question about the presence of prohibited items or substances in his possession, the Moscow city news agency notes.
The police decided to take the citizen to the department for investigation. On the way in the official car, the detainee threw a package with 27 parcels that was with him into the back seat. The examination found that the bundles contained a psychotropic substance – amphetamine. During a personal search, hashish weighing 4.5 g was also seized from the man.
During a conversation with law enforcement officers, the detainee reported the addresses where he made bookmarks, which were later confiscated.
“According to the research certificate, the seized material is a psychotropic substance – amphetamine. The total weight of the confiscated amounted to over 120 g,” the department explained.
A criminal case has been initiated under the article on attempted illegal production, sale or shipment of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues. The detainee was taken into custody.
Earlier that day, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region reported that police seized two firearms, cartridges and about 400 grams of drugs from a local resident while processing operational information about the possible presence of drugs.
