The UTA announced a bus stoppage for Thursday but does not join the transport strike

The union led by Roberto Fernández insists on improving the salary of drivers, who currently earn around 1,060,000 pesos per month. The UTA requested an additional increase in the 25%retroactive to the month of August, to compensate for the loss of income suffered by the sector due to the reduction in service frequencies and overtime.

The Government’s meeting with the UTA failed

The new meeting in the organization headed by Julio Cordero It occurred after the failure of last week’s negotiations with employers over salary claims, with the union’s request for a retroactive increase to August so that in December there would be an increase that would reach 24.7% in that period. The UTA leader explained that the salary of a bus driver is $1,060,000, a figure that he considers insufficient.

Before the meeting, from the toughest sector of the CGT, one of its leaders, the Camioneros representative, Pablo Moyanoheated up the internal dispute with the UTA for not joining the transport strike, which mitigates the impact of the force measure. Moyano criticized: “They will have their reasons, history will judge.”

Moyano stated in statements to Radio 10: “All modes of transportation joined. It was reported that the UTA does not stop. They will have their reasons, history will judge them, because I don’t believe that my fellow bus drivers are living in another world, right? Where they have good salaries and security. But well, its board of directors decided not to join.”

The Truck Drivers representative came out to question the “dialogue” unions: “There are colleagues who believe that we must dialogue with the government and another sector, which is us, who believe that we must confront. I hope the Government takes note that a large sector of the population is having a bad time.”
