Deputy head of the Russian Ministry of Transport Vladimir Tokarev was detained in connection with the events five years ago. Information about this was received by Izvestia on January 19.
We are talking about embezzlement at the Spetstransstroy company, where Tokarev worked as first deputy general director several years ago. In the same case, the security forces earlier detained the former head of the company, Yuri Reilyan.
Earlier on Wednesday, it became known that the police and the FSB took Tokarev to the transport department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) of Russia for the Central Federal District (CFD).
The official is under investigation. The procedural status of an official in the framework of the activities carried out by law enforcement officers is not defined.
Tokarev has been Deputy Minister of Transport since January 26, 2021.
Since May 2020, the official has headed the Federal Agency for Railway Transport. From 2016 to 2018, he served as First Deputy General Director of Spetstransstroy LLC.
Vladimir Tokarev is a graduate of the Moscow State University of Economics, Statistics and Informatics (MGUESI) with a degree in jurisprudence, a candidate of economic sciences, according to the portal of the Russian Ministry of Transport.
