The police and the FSB took Vladimir Tokarev, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Transport of Russia, to the transport department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) of Russia for the Central Federal District (CFD). This was announced on Wednesday, January 19, by the source of Izvestia.
As the interlocutor of the publication said, investigative actions are being carried out with Tokarev.
The status of an official in the framework of the activities carried out by law enforcement officers has not yet been determined.
Tokarev has been Deputy Minister of Transport since January 26, 2021.
Since May 29, 2020, the official has headed the Federal Agency for Railway Transport. From 2016 to 2018, he served as First Deputy General Director of Spetstransstroy LLC.
Vladimir Tokarev is a graduate of the Moscow State University of Economics, Statistics and Informatics (MGUESI) with a degree in jurisprudence, a candidate of economic sciences, according to the portal of the Russian Ministry of Transport.
Earlier, on January 13, the court arrested Vladimir Gromov, Acting Vice Governor of the Tambov Region, for two months, who is suspected of patronizing the theft of more than 25 million rubles as part of the Demography national project.
The official was detained after searches conducted at his place on January 1 by employees of the regional departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB.
Two criminal cases were initiated against the official for abuse of official powers and their excess (part 2 of article 285 and part 2 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
