The Board of Directors of the Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA) approved Andrey Melnikov for the position of CEO of the state corporation. This is stated on January 19 in a message on the agency’s website.
The meeting was chaired by Elvira Nabiullina, head of the Bank of Russia. On her recommendation, Andrey Melnikov was appointed DIA general director. He will begin work on January 26. Melnikov has been with the DIA since its inception in 2004.
“The Board of Directors approved the dismissal of Yuri Olegovich Isaev from the position of the agency’s CEO in connection with his appointment as Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia,” the report says.
On January 14, it was reported that Yuri Isaev would be appointed Deputy Governor of the Bank of Russia from January 26, 2022. He will oversee the departments of: combating unfair practices, financial monitoring and currency control, as well as the representative office of the Central Bank in China.
On January 25, Deputy Chairman Dmitry Skobelkin will leave the Central Bank. He decided to continue his career “outside the Bank of Russia,” the report says.
