The head of the Buenos Aires government, Jorge Macrimet this Wednesday with the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayusowith the aim of exchanging experiences in public administration.
“Today I had a very important meeting with Isabel Díaz Ayuso, President of the Community of Madrid and President of the Popular Party of Madrid. We both face the challenge of govern large global capitalswhich are the economic, political and cultural heart of our countries. Argentina and Spain, and especially between Buenos Aires and Madrid, we share values, a culture, a language and a history that unites us. Also a vision of respect for order, property and the individual freedom of our citizens. We must continue fighting together against populism, defending those who choose us to live their lives in freedom,” the president highlighted.
According to INDEC, there are currently 48 thousand Argentine citizens living in Madrid.
On behalf of the Buenos Aires government, the Secretary General and International Relations, Fulvio Pompeo, and the Minister of Culture, Gabriela Ricardes, also participated in the meeting.
“It was an excellent meeting, with great political harmony between Díaz Ayuso and Macribased on common values, on a shared view of democracy and the defense of individual freedoms, which is framed in the historical link between the Popular Party and Pro Argentina“Pompeo said.
Jorge Macri’s agenda continues in Spain
In addition to the meeting with Ayuso, Macri had already met with the mayor of Madrid yesterday, José Luis Martínez Almeidato address issues of security, technology and culture. Finally, the Buenos Aires mayor’s agenda in Spain will close tonight at the official reception of the Union of Ibero-American Capital Cities (UCCI) and the meeting of the Executive Committee. The summit of the UCCI will take place tomorrow with the presence of mayors and leaders of the most important Spanish-speaking citiesand search promote cooperation and the sustainable development. It is expected that Buenos Aires is designated as the venue for the next edition in 2025.
