The new evolutions of a classic
The new generations of the MINI Cooper (in the new family, the term Cooper refers to the 3-door and 5-door MINI models and is no longer used as an engine specification) debut in Argentina also with the novelty of presenting a new system of nomenclature, which names the different performance levels of its combustion engines. In this way, the versions with traditional motorization of these two products now use the letter C, while the more powerful variants maintain the traditional S.
The new MINI Cooper S 3 (F66) and 5-door (F65) are powered by the MINI TwinPower Turbo 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, direct injection engine, which delivers 204 HP of power and 300 Nm of torque between 1,450 and 4,500 rpm. This is associated with the seven-speed dual-clutch Steptronic automatic transmission, which transmits all its torque to the front axle. With this configuration, the three-door model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds, while the five-door model does the same in 6.8 seconds.
The MINI Cooper C, meanwhile, offer the MINI TwinPower Turbo 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine, with a power of 156 HP and 230 Nm of torque. This mechanics is also related in both bodies to a seven-speed, dual-clutch Steptronic automatic transmission, with front-wheel drive.

Regardless of their engines, both the classic 3-door model (F66) and the large 5-door product (F65) reflect the brand’s iconic Go-Kart driving sensation and arrive in our country from the plant that the BMW Group owns. in Oxford, England. Its versions are sold for USD 48,900 (MINI Cooper C Classic 3 doors), USD 49,900 (MINI Cooper C Classic 5 doors), USD 59,900 (MINI Cooper S Classic 3 doors) and USD 62,200 (MINI Cooper S Classic 5 doors).
The most versatile generation of the adventurous product
With six additional centimeters in height and thirteen extra centimeters in length, the new MINI Countryman grows significantly compared to its predecessor to offer an even more comfortable and spacious cabin. With wider wheel arches, among other features, its modern design enhances its presence and its adventurous and resistant crossover format.
Manufactured at the BMW Group Leipzig plant, the new Countryman becomes the first MINI produced in Germany and arrives in Argentina with two engines and three versions. The MINI Countryman S All4, both in its Classic Confort (USD 69,900) and Favored (USD 77,900) equipment variants, has the aforementioned MINI TwinPower Turbo 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, direct injection engine with 204 HP of power, 300 Nm of torque and seven-speed Steptronic automatic transmission. However, unlike the 3- and 5-door MINI Cooper S, this product has the MINI All4 intelligent all-wheel drive system.
On the other hand, the MINI Countryman C Classic integrates the MINI TwinPower Turbo 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine, with 156 HP, 230 Nm and the seven-speed, dual-clutch Steptronic automatic transmission, with front-wheel drive. Its retail price is USD 63,900 and, like the entire MINI portfolio, it has a three-year or 200,000-kilometer warranty.
Exterior design and equipment
The new models take the MINI DNA to a new level and highlight the urban character and innovative spirit of the MINI community. They are characterized by a modern and purist design focused on the essential, which is reflected in the new design language called Charismatic Simplicity. It combines the traditional values of the British house with progressive innovations, which are expressed within the typical MINI proportions (short overhangs and bonnet, long wheelbase and large wheels). On the other hand, defined shoulders give the entire new family a decidedly athletic look.
“In its fifth and current generation, the MINI Cooper 3-door continues to represent the core of MINI and marks the reinvention of the original model. Without a doubt, it is a classic that allows Argentine users to access a premium and sporty vehicle, which at the same time is cheerful and extremely fun,” says Leandro Larregina, BMW Sales and Network Development Manager, regarding this model. and MINI. At the front, the new octagonal grille and the iconic round headlights define its characteristic nose, while the rear sector exhibits the new redesigned matrix rear lights.
With a similar aesthetic, the 5-door Cooper provides greater space and comfort for passengers by being 172 mm longer and having a longer wheelbase (+72 mm) compared to the 3-door. In Argentina, the four available versions of these models incorporate an electric panoramic roof, LED headlights with range adjustment and 17” wheels as standard elements. The front optics and rear lights with configurable light pattern, however, are exclusive to the Cooper S versions.
Regarding the Countryman, Larregina states that “its aesthetic renewal and the expansion of its equipment allow MINI to offer a different proposal within a highly attractive and rapidly expanding segment in the market.” Externally, this one highlights the elegant design of the C-pillar and the vertical shape of the brand new rear lights. Below the letters that identify this model on the trunk lid, the body has an aesthetic cut in the rear bumper that highlights the presence of the vehicle. Likewise, while the three versions adopt an electric panoramic roof and LED headlights with automatic range adjustment, the wheels are 17” for the Countryman C Classic version and 18” in the Countryman S All4 Classic Confort alternative. Exclusively, the Countryman S All4 Favored variant incorporates 19” wheels in two tones.
Minimalist, digital, immersive and warm interior
The interior design of the MINI is inspired by the classic Mini, with a slim dashboard in which the MINI Interaction Unit takes center stage, the revolutionary circular OLED screen with a diameter of 240 millimeters and a thin thickness, which is included as a standard element in all the range. This was developed to be controlled intuitively using MINI’s Operating System 9 through touch and voice, and although it remains in the central position, it has been relocated a little closer to the driver. Additionally, thanks to the new digital functions and connectivity services added by MINI Connected, the level of fun when driving a MINI is raised even further.

Other highlights of the interior are the new multifunction steering wheel (which is heated as standard for the entire range), the MINI Experience modes (which influence the lighting and the overall impression of the interior), the important specially developed textile surfaces and the clean lines of the cabin, which together with the panoramic roof contribute to creating a generous amount of space and a bright and welcoming atmosphere. Likewise, the most important driving functions (parking brake, gear selector, start/stop, experience mode selector, volume control) are now commanded from the distinctive switch bar, which frees up space. the gear lever to make way for the wireless charging base (standard element for all versions).
Compared to the MINI Cooper, the air vents in the Countryman’s cabin are arranged vertically and in the case of its Favored version you can find exclusive equipment such as the John Cooper Works electric and sports seats, the foldable MINI Head-up Display and the Harman Kardon sound system with 12 speakers.
Extended safety equipment as standard for the entire MINI range
The provision of safety elements and driving assistance is practically identical for all models and versions. In this way, all new MINIs have a Driving Assistant package (lane change warning, rear cross traffic monitoring with brake intervention, exit warning and detection of vehicles in the blind spot), parking assistant with front sensors and rear, reversing assistant and camera, 360° camera system with panoramic and 3D view, dynamic stability and traction controls, ABS, cornering braking control (CBC), tire pressure loss alert and collision sensor , among others.
On the other hand, the entire MINI portfolio benefits from the free arrival of the new MINI Connected services, which integrate important safety functionalities such as intelligent emergency call or the support of Roadside Assistance, available 24 hours a day. , 365 days a year, to resolve queries, solve problems or request mechanical assistance. In addition, in all versions the MINI Digital Key can be configured and shared to enter and start the vehicle directly with the cell phone and, for example, all S variants will allow taking photos from a distance thanks to Remote 3D View.
A historic year for a historic renewal
At the same time as it celebrates 20 years since its relaunch in the country and 65 years of the model that gave rise to its birth, the MINI brand gains new momentum in the local market with the introduction of its three most anticipated and traditional products. A whole new generation of models designed to offer Argentine drivers the unmistakable MINI Go-Kart feeling and the most fun driving experience on the market.
