The Argentine driver crashed on lap 32 and was left out of the San Pablo Grand Prix, his sixth appearance in Formula 1.

Franco Colapinto lamented after an eventful race in Brazil in the rain and assured that he is “very sad” after having suffered a crash that left him out of his sixth appearance in Formula 1.

The Argentine driver had to leave the race on lap 32 while defending 16th position. Once the San Pablo Grand Prix was over, he expressed: “It was a very strong blow, the car was destroyed. So I’m very sad, Sorry to the team that worked a lot to put the car on the track. A shame.”

Moments before the accident, Colapinto had entered the pits to change his tires for the second time in the race and explained how the crash occurred: “We entered the pits and we put intermediate tires againbut the track was very wet. To keep the tires warm we tried to push as hard as we could. There was a terrible river on the straight. There was a time when you couldn’t handle“.

In a weekend marked by incessant rain, the Pilar native had already suffered an accident in the classification that took place this Sunday morning. This first crash left him out of Q1 and his team had to fix the car against the clock. “It was a bad day, it was complicated. “The team members did not deserve this.”reiterated the Argentine who seeks to turn the page quickly and prepare for the next race. “Now we have to come back stronger in Las Vegas and we have to recover from this. It was a race to forget,” he concluded.

When does Franco Colapinto run again?

After an adverse weekend in Brazil, Colapinto will run again in Las Vegas, United States after a 2-week break.

It will be in vegas Strip Circuit of Nevada on November 23, while on December 1 the Qatar Grand Prix and finally the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on December 8th.

Without a seat guaranteed for 2025, these will be the last three races of Franco Colapinto’s first season in Formula 1.
