The Russian crew of the ISS from orbit on Thursday, January 21, congratulated the engineering troops of the Russian Federation on the 321st anniversary of their formation.
Russian cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov and Pyotr Dubrov from the Soyuz MS-17 spacecraft conveyed warm words to veterans of the engineering troops and workers of the military-industrial complex.
“Congratulations to the servicemen, veterans of the engineering troops and workers of the military-industrial complex on their professional holiday! We wish you and your loved ones health, family happiness, well-being and good luck in business for the good of the motherland!” congratulated the astronauts.
As Anton Shkaplerov noted, the engineering troops of the Russian Federation are diverse and technically saturated troops, in their history they have passed “a glorious path of serving the Fatherland.”
“In all historical periods, military engineers successfully ensured the fulfillment of tasks to protect the Fatherland. They made an invaluable contribution to the victory over the Nazi invaders during the Great Patriotic War!” he stressed.
Pyotr Dubrov added that in armed conflicts, including in Afghanistan, the personnel of the engineering troops have repeatedly confirmed their skills and devotion to military duty.
“The servicemen of the engineering troops are still effectively solving the tasks of demining the territories of Syria and Laos, engineering support for the peacekeeping contingent in Karabakh. The readiness of forces and means is constantly being confirmed, ”concluded Dubrov.
On January 21, representatives of one of the most respected professions in the army, military engineers, celebrate their professional holiday. On this day in 1701, Peter I issued a decree on the establishment in Moscow of the “School of the Pushkar Order”, where officers of artillery and engineering troops were trained.
