Two Tu-160 missile carriers made a planned flight over the northern seas

Two Tu-160 strategic missile carriers performed a scheduled flight in airspace over the neutral waters of the Arctic Ocean, the Barents and White Seas. This was announced on January 21 by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

It is noted that the duration of training flights was about 13 hours. During the flight, the crews of Tu-160 aircraft carried out refueling in the air.

As emphasized in the military department, all flights of aircraft of the Aerospace Forces of Russia are carried out in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace.

Long-range aviation pilots regularly fly over the neutral waters of the Arctic, North Atlantic, Black
and the Baltic Seas and the Pacific Ocean.

So, on November 13, two Tu-160 strategic missile carriers of the long-range aviation of the Russian Federation performed a scheduled flight over the neutral waters of the Barents, Norwegian and North Seas. During the flight, the missile carriers escorted the MiG-31 aircraft of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Northern Fleet. In addition, at certain stages of the route, Russian strategic missile carriers were escorted by Eurofighter Typhoon fighters of the British Air Force.

On November 11, two Tu-160s of the Russian Aerospace Forces performed patrols in the airspace of Belarus, their cover of the Su-30SM of the Belarusian Air Force was worked out. The flight duration was 4 hours 36 minutes. During this time, strategic missile carriers covered more than 3 thousand km.
