Dietitian Anna Melekhina on Friday, January 21, called the consequences for the body from a sharp rejection of sweets.
As a radio specialist told Sputnik, many people give up sugar in order to lose weight. However, the doctor believes that you should not limit yourself without proper preparation. According to her, a person may feel discomfort, which some experts call “sugar withdrawal.”
“A person may begin to feel a loss of energy because sweet foods were a source of carbohydrates for him, which, in turn, are the main source of energy,” explained Anna Melekhina.
The doctor said that if a person wants to painlessly reduce the amount of sugar consumed, then you need to find a suitable replacement for sweets.
Anna Melekhina recommended first adding more complex carbohydrates to the diet, while not giving up sweets. For example, you can allow yourself bread, pasta, rice and potatoes. This will lead to a decrease in the physiological need for sugar, and the person will feel comfortable.
“If we take something away from the body, then this must be compensated. And it’s better to give first, and then take it away, ”the doctor explained.
These expert tips do not exclude the need to initially consult with a specialist.
Earlier, on Friday, Elena Sinitsyna, an endocrinologist and nutritionist at the SM-Clinic, told Izvestiya that an imbalance between the energy consumed in the form of food and the energy expended leads to weight gain. One of the most common causes of imbalance is overeating. Often people do not notice how they overeat – eating on the run, quick snacks, eating in the presence of distractions (mobile, TV, tablet) are out of control.
