The reactivation of the investigation was confirmed by the disappearance of designer María Cashwho was last seen in 2011. This Friday, it was learned that two witnesses testified again this week, in the framework of one of the cases that most shocked Argentine society in recent times.
Were two employees of a service station located in the town of General Güemes – one of the last places where the presence of the woman was recorded – who appeared to testify again in Federal Court number 2 of the capital of Salta, since they had done so at the time.
Andres Reyesone of the witnesses, commented: “I worked for a man doing maintenance at the YPF. That day I was painting the trunks of some trees, on routes 34 and 9 in Torzalito, and I saw a girl who seemed to be lost; He knocked on the doors of the trucks, as if he were looking for something or someone. I looked at her and at one point she told me: ‘Don’t look at me, I’m fine. “I’m not lost, I’m not high,’ and that was it.”
Furthermore, he stated that shortly after the incident, he traveled to the city of Salta and saw the pamphlets with the young woman’s face: “They were looking for her. I said: ‘What gave birth to him’. I saw the photo posted on the tollbooth,” the diary The Tribune.
The other mentioned, Jesus Britodeclared: “I was picking up trash, and at one point I saw a girl coming from behind the station. I was hitchhiking. She must have asked about six or seven truck drivers, but none of them wanted to take her. “She had a backpack and a little bag.”
The reactivation of the case and how it continues from here on
The call by the prosecution, led by Eduardo Villalba, occurred after an intense purification of the testimonies, many of them contradictory, regarding Cash’s whereabouts. Furthermore, according to the same sources, the proposed reward, about five million pesos, motivated many people to present false leads, which ended up distorting the investigation.
In this way, the investigation returned to focus on reconstructing the young woman’s itinerarycaptured at that time by cameras located in the Palomitas area, located about 50 kilometers from the city of Salta.
The young woman from Buenos Aires was last seen on July 8, 2011, near the sanctuary of the late Correa, on route 9/34, and despite the efforts of the authorities she was never found.
Her father, Federico Cash, was personally responsible for collaborating with the authorities but died searching for María in 2014, after suffering a car accident in the province of La Pampa.
