The work of the mine “Komsomolets” in Kuzbass was stopped due to problems with ventilation

In the Kemerovo region in the city of Leninsk-Kuznetsky, the work of the Komsomolets mine was suspended. This was reported on January 22 by emergency services.

The reason was the shutdown of the main mine ventilation fan as a result of a power outage to the boiler house. At the time of the incident, 56 people were in the mine.

As Izvestia was told in the press service of the governor of the Kemerovo region, Sergei Tsivilev, at the moment the main fan for ventilation of the mine has been launched, the mine is operating normally. All people have been removed from the mine, there are no casualties. The branch of paramilitary mountain rescue detachments was not involved.

According to Izvestia, the forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were also not involved because of the incident.

On January 18, it became known that regulators will discuss the issue of early revocation of the license for subsoil use at the Listvyazhnaya mine, as the inspections revealed cases of non-compliance with coal production standards at the mine.

On December 29, the Kemerovo Regional Court upheld the president of the SDS holding, which owns the Listvyazhnaya mine, Mikhail Fedyaev. He is charged under Part 2 of Art. 201 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Abuse of authority in a commercial organization that entailed grave consequences”).

On December 20, Izvestia wrote that former State Duma deputy Vladimir Gridin, who, according to investigators, may be the largest owner of the Listvyazhnaya mine, probably fled Russia to Monaco.

The accident at the Listvyazhnaya mine occurred on November 25. As a result, 51 people died, including five rescuers. Another 58 people were hospitalized. In total, there were 285 people in the mine.

On the fact of the incident, a criminal case was also initiated on the fact of negligence of employees of the department of Rostekhnadzor.
