Within our commitment we firmly believe that it is not only about the good practices that we carry out inside the plant, but that it is relevant to articulate with other actors in the basin to be able to amplify and enhance the impact of the actions we carry out.
According to the latest data from the World Health Organization, globally 1 in 4 people do not have access to safe drinking water and 1 in 2 lack reliable sanitation. It is therefore necessary to take action individually, but also articulated between the private, public and third sectors to work towards the care of this resource that is so valuable for human life and that of the planet. It is urgent to detect the challenges that lie ahead and propose solutions regarding the care of basins and rivers, to guarantee the water of the future.

We have been present in Mendoza for 30 years with our Eco de los Andes plant where, since the beginning of operations, we have been pioneers in the practices we carry out to protect the environment through the implementation of various strategies to responsible water management, which allowed us to walk the path towards regeneration today to help protect, renew and restore the environment and improve the well-being of communities, as well as ensure the availability of this resource for future generations.

As part of this same path, we are part of the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS), a global alliance of companies from the private sector, the public sector, Academia and NGOs that work together to protect shared water resources. Through its standard, AWS certifies companies that work collaboratively and transparently in sustainable water management, not only inside the factory but also in the care and preservation of the basin where they operate. In 2023, the Eco de los Andes plant achieved Platinum Certification from the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS), the highest distinction that can be achieved, thus becoming the first company in Mendoza, in the sector and in the country to obtain it.
Within our commitment we firmly believe that it is not only about the good practices that we carry out inside the plant, but that it is relevant to articulate with other actors in the basin to be able to amplify and enhance the impact of the actions we carry out. In this sense, we promote spaces for reflection and dialogue to identify an agenda of shared risks and opportunities that encourage us to manage projects together. Projects based on concrete actions but that, at the same time, promote awareness about water care in the community.
In this sense, we have been working on a regeneration initiative in the Upper Tunuyán River basin together with the General Department of Irrigation and the National University of Cuyo, which seeks to promote the care and more efficient use of groundwater, an element of nature. that often remains invisible. As part of this plan, in recent months we have held different training sessions in tertiary institutes and technical schools located in the Uco Valley, in the province of Mendoza.
Understanding the interactions between surface water and groundwater is key to understanding the functioning of the complete ecosystem, the territorial distribution of the basin and knowing more about the space where we live. From Eco, and throughout the entire journey, we have the support of a professional team made up of teachers and students from different careers related to hydraulic sciences and water resources management.
Working together with the entire local community has the particularity of allowing us to better locate the pertinent actions, challenges and opportunities regarding the care and appreciation of this fundamental resource. In schools and universities, not only the future of knowledge is being developed, but also the different ideas and possibilities for a better coexistence with the planet. We need this collective creativity to continue protecting and regenerating the river basin.
All these projects are driven by a common objective: to be a benchmark in water regeneration, that allows us to generate a positive impact on the aquifers where we operate as well as a footprint on the entire population, so that its protection is in the hands of each person. Water is a matter for each and every one of us: both because its lack affects us equally, as well as its well-being and its presence benefits us every day, and we have time to take care of it.
