The deputy head of the administration of Voskresensk near Moscow, Alexander Savkin, was sent into custody in the case of taking a bribe. This was reported in the prosecutor’s office of the region on January 22.
“Taking into account the position of the prosecutor’s office, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention until 03/20/2022 in relation to the deputy head of the Voskresensk city district, accused of taking a bribe,” the department said in a Telegram message.
The day before, a criminal case was initiated against Savkin under paragraph “c” of Part 5 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Receiving a bribe on a large scale”).
According to the investigation, in March 2021, Savkin received a bribe in the amount of 160 thousand rubles from a businessman through an intermediary. In exchange, the suspect promised the businessman a contract to repair the asphalt pavement of courtyards and intra-block passages in Voskresensk.
According to Izvestia, Vladislav Pupyshev, the head of the road construction enterprise MKU Improvement and Gardening, was detained as part of the case.
In the administration of Voskresensk, Savkin oversaw the issues of improvement and road facilities.
