The official holiday calendar for 2025

through a publication in the Official Gazette Thursday morning, the Government advanced the dates of the next non-working days for tourism purposes in the year 2025. These are three different days, linked to holidays, which extend the weekends with the intention of promoting travel, domestic tourism and reduce the negative effects of seasonality in the sector.

The dates were communicated through the Decree 1027/2024, which bears the signature of both the president Javier Milei as the chief of staff, Guillermo Francos and is protected by article 6 of Law No. 27,399, which grants the power to the Executive to annually set up to three holidays or non-working days intended to promote tourist activity and which must coincide with Mondays or Fridays.

The first of them was assigned for Friday, May 2, which complements the national holiday of May 1stInternational Workers’ Day in commemoration of the bloody repression suffered by the workers of the McCormick factory, during several days in April and May 1886, in the city of Chicago, with the intention of being an opportunity to affirm their rights and their mutual solidarity.

The second arrives two months later. Precisely, on Friday, August 15, following the holiday of 17 of that month in which the passage to the immortality of General José de San Martín and which is moved to Monday the 18th, coinciding with the Children’s Day.
