Metallurgical production on the decline: in October it had a year-on-year drop of 7%

Installed capacity had a drop of 5.6% in October compared to the same month last year and 9.4% if we look at the average for 2023. It only raised production for agriculture.

In October he had a drop in its metallurgical production of 7% year-on-year and 0.2% without seasonality compared to September of this yearaccording to a report by the Association of Metallurgical Industrialists of the Argentine Republic (ADIMRA).

The numbers recorded by ADIMRA are discouraging. Installed capacity had a drop of 5.6% in October compared to the same month last year and 9.4% if measured with respect to the 2023 average.

The province most affected by this fall is the province of Buenos Aires. According to ADIMRA, it contracted on average by 7.8%. It follows Santa Fe (6.5%), Cordova (6.1%) and Mendoza (4.8%).

The situation by subsector

If you look at the situation of each subsector of the metallurgical industry, you will find disparate situations. The falls range from 4.1% (Electrical equipment and appliances) to 17.4% (Foundry).

The only one that is saved is production linked to the agricultural sector. The manufacturing of agricultural machinery grew by 9.9% and Bodywork and trailers by 1%, although this is compared to a bad year due to the drought.
