The Tretyakov Gallery on Monday, January 24, announced the imminent opening of the Pavel and Sergei Tretyakov Museum in Moscow. The mansion in 1st Golutvinsky Lane can be visited from January 29. In total, the museum will receive 100 people a day.
According to representatives of the museum, it will be possible to see exhibits dedicated to the life and work of famous collectors, entrepreneurs, philanthropists and public figures who entered the history of Russian culture as the founders of the Tretyakov Gallery.
Entrance will be organized by sessions – only seven people can get inside in one session.
The museum also contains authentic items that belonged to the Tretyakovs, as well as typological items of that time.
“The concept of the Museum is quite bold. We leave everything that we should have kept. We do not have many memorial things, but we do have excellent studies that have been written by specialists from the Tretyakov Gallery over the years. All this to tell on 200 sq. m was almost impossible. Then we turned to the concept of history house (historical house), where the house becomes a place where personality and history meet, where the house can evoke various emotions and encourage people to communicate. This is how the concept was born,” Tatyana Gafar, Deputy General Director of the Tretyakov Gallery for the Development of New Museum Spaces, told Izvestia.
On January 20, it was reported that an exhibition of works by the traveler Fyodor Konyukhov will open at the Russian Academy of Arts (RAKh) on February 4. The exposition covers three decades of Konyukhov’s travels around the world – from early works written in the 1970s, when a cycle was created based on the research expedition in Chukotka, to the latest works.
In particular, viewers will see the work “Guardian Angel”. The canvas for her was the fabric from the balloon, on which he made a round-the-world trip in the summer of 2016.
