Ex-special forces of the FSB received from 8 to 10 years in prison in the case of a raid on a bank

The defendants in the criminal case of a raid on a businessman in a Moscow bank in 2019, in which FSB officers were detained, received from 8 to 10 years in prison. This was reported on January 24 by an Izvestia correspondent from the hall of the Moscow Garrison Court.

So, the ex-fighter of the Alpha special forces Vladimir Urusov was sentenced to nine years in a strict regime colony with deprivation of his rank. Dmitry Kazantsev received 9 years and 6 months in prison, as well as a fine of 400 thousand rubles. Dmitry Chikvin, an employee of the Moscow Department of the Federal Tax Service, was sentenced to 8 years in a strict regime penal colony and fined 300,000 rubles.

Dmitry Kapyshkin, a former employee of the Vympel special forces, was sentenced to 8 years in prison with a sentence to be served in a strict regime colony. Also, the man will be stripped of his title. The court made the same decision in relation to former FSB major Alexander Karelin. The ex-special forces officer of “Alpha” Khetag Margiev received 8 years and 6 months in a strict regime penal colony.

Another former Alpha employee, Roman Obelensky, received 9 years in prison and was stripped of his rank. Ex-employee of the “K” department of the FSB Artur Vlasov was sentenced to 10 years in a strict regime colony.

Only Vlasov and Urusov pleaded guilty in this case.

According to the text of the verdict, at the time of the implementation of the criminal intent, all the defendants, except for Chikvin and Kazantsev, were active members of the FSB.

The alleged customer of the attack is businessman Boris Karamatov, who illegally carried out currency conversion.

According to the prosecution, in June 2019, under the guise of carrying out operational activities, the defendants attacked businessman Alexander Yumaranov and stole 136.5 million rubles from him, intended for exchange for dollars, on the territory of Metallurg Bank on Ivan Babushkin Street in Moscow. A group of special forces, dressed in special service uniforms, had traumatic pistols and walkie-talkies with them. A Mercedes car, owned by the mother of another defendant in the case, Konstantin Zharov, was also involved in the robbery.

During the arrest, Zharov testified against his accomplices and admitted his guilt. He was sentenced to 9 years in prison.
