The Energy Indicators of the month of September indicate an increase in the Index of Industrial Energy Prices (IPEI) by 0.2%, while the index for the residential sector (IPER) also rose 0.3%. This increase in cost is mainly due to the increase in the value of firewood.

According to the data of the National Institute of Statistics (INE) the price of the firewood rose an average of 2.47% on average for the entire Uruguay. “After a drop in August, the price of firewood increased again in September, accumulating an increase of 8.4% so far this year. Along the same lines, the price of natural gas also registered an increase of 0.16% in its rates to the public,” the report announces.

As a consequence, the IPEI accumulates an increase of 2.79% in the last twelve months, while the IPER received an increase of 4.81%. According to the publication, both indices “remain below the increase in the general price level, which at the end of September reached 5.32% in the Index of Consumer Prices (IPC)“.

Uruguay continues to have the most expensive fuel in the region

Once again, the indicators of the different fuel values ​​in the region determine that Uruguay It is still the most expensive. In this way, the value of diesel in the country is 1.28 dollars per liter, followed by Argentina with 1.20 dollars per liter and Chili with 1.09. Among the cheapest is Brazil and Paraguay with 1.07 and 0.99 dollars per liter, respectively.

The naphtha, For its part, it is also more expensive in Uruguay with 1.89 dollars per liter, followed by Chili with 1.48 dollars and Argentina in third place with $1.12. These are followed by Brazil and Paraguay with values ​​around 1.10 and 1.06 dollars per liter, respectively.

For him fuel oil, Uruguay It also remains the most expensive at $0.76 per liter, followed by Brazil with 0.73 and Chili with 0.61 dollars per liter, in last place. As for the LPG, the country is the second most expensive, surpassed by Chili with a value of 2.07 dollars per liter, while in Uruguay It costs 1.96. In third place is Brazil with 1.47, followed by Argentina and Paraguay with 0.88 and 0.77 dollars per liter, respectively.
