A state of emergency was introduced in the Aleutsky municipal district of the Kamchatka Territory after a fire in a boiler house and a subsequent disruption of heat supply in the village of Nikolsky on Bering Island. This was announced on Tuesday, January 25, in the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the region.
It is noted that the fire occurred at 16:12 on January 24 (01:12 Moscow time on January 25) in a one-story building of a boiler house located on Shkolnaya Street in the village of Nikolsky.
At 02:25 Moscow time, the fire was completely extinguished. As a result, the premises of the boiler room were damaged, the roof of the building was destroyed on an area of 200 square meters. m. In addition, there was a partial collapse. There are no dead or injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
According to the agency, five apartment buildings were left without heating, in which 123 people live, including 31 children. At present, temporary accommodation points have been prepared to receive people: the gymnasium of the Nikolskaya secondary school and the rooms of a local hotel.
Earlier, on January 23, two people died in a fire in a heat collector in the Primorsky Territory. The fire and rescue service received a message about the ignition of debris in the heat collector. When the fire was extinguished, the bodies of two people were found. According to preliminary data, people died from carbon monoxide poisoning.
