The senator from Unión por la Patria criticized the changes in the requirements to access free medicines. The modifications will affect 3 million retirees.

The senator of Union for the Homeland, Eduardo “Wado” de Pedro, this Monday repudiated the decision of the government of Javier Milei to modify the requirements for access to medications with 100% discount for retirees PAMI, a measure that is estimated to harm nearly 3 million older adults.

The libertarian administration added new requirements for access to free remedies, which will affect a large majority of retirees who were currently included in the benefit. From now on, it will only cover affiliates of PAMI who have net income less than 1.5 minimum pension benefits and no prepayment.

“It seems that the caste were the retirees. They were denied a bonus, the update of their salaries and now they are taking away their medications. For the people, nothing. For his friends, everything,” Pedro wrote on his X account, after learning of the modifications implemented by the libertarian government.

In addition to the aforementioned requirements, if the member lives with someone who has a Single Certificate of Disability (CUD)the total monthly income of the household must be less than 3 minimum pension benefits.

To access the benefit, they must not have more than one property, a vehicle less than 10 years old, or be the owner of luxury goods. Nor may they be the owner of corporate assets that indicate full economic capacity.
