Banks in the province of Buenos Aires will change their opening hours to the public in summer

The measure had been requested by La Bancaria and was made official this Tuesday through a decree by Governor Axel Kicillof. The summer schedule will be in effect between December 9 and March 24.

The government of the province of Buenos Aires established a summer schedule for the jurisdiction’s banks, which between December 9, 2024 and March 24, 2025 will serve the public from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

As determined in the Decree No. 3043/2024 published this Tuesday in the Buenos Aires Official Gazette, it was established that “the staff will carry out their work day from Monday to Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., and the hours between 8:00 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. must be designated as public service hours. 1:00 p.m.

The decree that bears the signatures of Governor Axel Kicillof and Government Minister Carlos Bianco seeks to prevent people from being exposed to high summer temperatures.

As March 24 will be a national holiday for the National Day of Remembrance for Truth and Justice, we will return to the usual schedule from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. only on Tuesday the 25th.

The request to modify the opening and closing hours, as well as the customer service hours of the banking entities, had been made by the Banking Association.

“The measure is encouraged due to the experience gathered in the 2023-2024 season, in which, through Decree No. 2106/2023, the hours were set from 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., with customer service hours. public the period between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.,” it was indicated in the foundations of the text.

It was held that “in order to facilitate the community’s proper development of financial activity and regular compliance with tax obligations, it is necessary to modify the operating hours of the banking institutions located in the Province, as of December 9, 2024 and until March 24, 2025”.
