Abascal returns to Argentina
The president of Vox, Santiago Abascal, returns to Argentina for the third time since Javier Milei took office a year ago.
The first was for Milei’s inauguration and the second last May, when he inaugurated the Madrid Forum, a conclave of the extreme right and where he said, among other things: “The good ones begin to be united“. The third will be this Wednesday.
For her part, Milei traveled to Madrid last May to participate in a VOX event, along with radical leaders from other countries and where she called Begoña Gómez, wife of the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, “corrupt.”
That gave rise to an unprecedented diplomatic crisis between the two countries, as Sánchez responded to the insults with the withdrawal of the then Spanish ambassador in Buenos Aires. That crisis was resolved last October 29 with the appointment of Joaquín María de Arístegui as the new ambassador to Argentina.
