Police in Moscow have detained a woman who is suspected of stealing about 1.7 million rubles from her employer. This was announced on Tuesday, January 25, by the press service of the Moscow Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
The department said that the suspect, replacing the position of a manager in the organization, was on parental leave, however, she arbitrarily attended the office without informing her head, and accepted money from clients as payment for the services and goods of the company, not having the right to do so.
She stole the money she received. The total damage amounted to about 1.7 million rubles.
Employees of the criminal investigation department detained the suspect – a 33-year-old resident of the Moscow region – on Prospekt Mira. According to the city news agency Moskva, she disposed of the stolen money at her own discretion.
A criminal case has been initiated under the article on fraud. The woman was released on bail.
Earlier, on January 25, the Izmailovsky Court of Moscow extended until July 13 the arrest of two men who are suspected of deceiving WWII veteran Vasily Pronin for 400,000 rubles. They were charged under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Fraud committed as part of an organized group”).
