A resident of Simferopol, Daria Fedorova, on Wednesday, January 26, told Izvestia that she had become a victim of fraud by a former Aeroflot cashier. The girl fraudulently stole more than 250 thousand rubles from a woman.
“My children and I went to a dance competition in Moscow, and when buying tickets at the Aeroflot ticket office, we were deceived by the cashier. They brought her money, then, according to her, she booked everything, printed it out and gave it away, but without receipts confirming the fact of payment. When we arrived at Simferopol airport on January 4, it was a shock to us that out of 34 tickets, only nine were paid for. Therefore, we had to urgently buy 25 tickets on the spot, ”Fedorova shared.
As Daria explained, the cashier remained in touch until the day of departure, when everything was discovered, but on January 4, her phone was turned off. As soon as the woman returned to Simferopol, she turned to the Aeroflot cash desk, but it turned out that the cashier who allegedly deceived her no longer works there. The airline itself noted that the girl quit for personal reasons.
“We have no doubt that this is a scam. We wrote a claim to the airline, but have not received a response yet. We hope that our problem with the return of money will be somehow resolved. They also filed a complaint with the police for fraud. Personally, our team suffered 251 thousand rubles – this is the cost of those tickets that we bought out, ”the victim specified.
After some time, Fedorova managed to get through to the cashier Leila, who issued her tickets, and discuss the situation. According to a former airline employee, she is aware of the problems that arose with tickets, and is now investigating why this happened. Leyla emphasized that she accurately registered passengers, because without tickets it would not have been possible.
“I am aware that at the registration they said that there was no payment. Now I need to figure it all out, and then I will already understand why this happened, ”she said.
In July 2021, the experts of the Real Ticket.rf project stated that the number of fraudulent resources for the sale of air tickets continues to grow. So, in April, about 100 fraudulent sites and profiles in social networks were revealed. In May, this figure almost doubled – 191 fake resources, and already in June their number reached 318.
According to the head of the Center for Digital Expertise of Roskachestvo Anton Kukanov, you should not click on links from letters and messages. When paying, he advised using a separate virtual card in order to minimize possible damage from the actions of scammers.
