The Christmas celebration in the town It started as a small family catechesis project in 2009but over time it became one of the most anticipated traditions in the region, in which citizens organize to decorate each corner with giant figures, Christmas trees, butterflies, stars, nativity scenes and decorations made with recycled materials, which that gives a unique and original touch to every corner.
On November 30, the Capioví community inaugurated the Christmas tree that, unfortunately, suffered a fire during the early morning due to a short circuit. Despite the incident, the celebration went ahead with symbolic decoration at the location of the tree, using white flowers and monarch butterflies as central themes. The neighbors came together to quickly rebuild it, keeping the spirit of the celebration alive.
A community effort that promotes sustainability
The director of Tourism of Capioví, Carolina Silva Ramoshighlighted that Christmas decoration not only has an aesthetic purpose, but also promotes important values for the community, such as unity and ecological awareness. “The reuse of recycled materials is a way of transmitting these values to new generations,” he explained. Over the years, the decoration expanded throughout the town, including not only the Plaza de Los Pioneros and the main avenue, but also parks, small squares and emblematic buildings such as the hospital and the police. This collective effort has made Capioví recognized as the “most Christmassy town in Argentina.”
