Russian ships and aviation conducted air defense exercises in the Black Sea. This was reported on January 26 by the press service of the Black Sea Fleet.
“The crews of the Admiral Essen frigate, the Ladny patrol ship, the Grayvoron and Ingushetia small missile ships, the Naberezhnye Chelny and R-60 missile boats, as part of tactical groups, completed air defense tasks (Air Defense) in during a bilateral exercise with the crews of fighter aircraft of the Air Force and Air Defense Association of the Southern Military District,” the statement said.
More than 20 ships, boats and vessels of the Black Sea Fleet took part in the exercises. As specified in the press service of the fleet, the exercises and trainings are held in several directions. In particular, on the organization of communications, air defense at sea, safe maneuvering in areas with intensive navigation.
On the same day, a detachment of warships and vessels of the Northern Fleet entered the Barents Sea for joint exercises with the Arctic Expeditionary Group of Forces and Troops. During the exercises, warships will work out the interaction of diverse forces of the fleet in the joint solution of various combat missions.
According to the training plan for the Russian Armed Forces, in January-February 2022, a series of naval exercises will be held in all areas of responsibility of the fleets under the general supervision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov. More than 1,000 units of military equipment, 140 warships and ships, more than 60 aircraft and about 10,000 servicemen will be involved in the exercises.
The exercises will take place in the waters of the seas adjacent to Russia and in operationally important areas of the World Ocean.
