The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Crimea organized an inspection after reports that in the city of Kerch, a bus driver dropped a child on the street because of a failed fare payment through a validator. This was announced on Wednesday, January 26, in the press service of the department.
“A procedural verification of information about the bus driver disembarking a child on the street in adverse weather conditions has been organized,” the report says.
During the check, the investigators will establish all the circumstances of the incident and assess the actions of the bus driver.
On the same day earlier, the prosecutor’s office of the republic also organized a check on the fact of violation of the rights of a schoolchild. The department noted that, according to preliminary information, the child was dropped off bus number 5, following the route Arshintsevo village – Bus station.
Frosty weather has persisted in Crimea in recent days. According to Yandex.Weather, the air temperature at night drops to almost -10 degrees, in the daytime to -5.
On January 21, a similar incident occurred in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. According to preliminary data, the mother of an 11-year-old student complained on the Web that her child was dropped off the bus because he did not have a ticket. The district attorney’s office is also investigating the incident.
In May last year, the State Duma adopted a bill banning passengers under the age of 16 who have not paid their fare from public transport. For this, the driver can be fined 5 thousand rubles, and officials – 20-30 thousand rubles.
