The court arrested the mother of a missing girl in the Novgorod region and her partner. The suspects will stay in custody for two months, an Izvestia correspondent reports.
In an interview with reporters, the woman’s cohabitant said that he blames the mother of the child for what happened. The man said that on the day of the loss they were in the bath, after which the suspect went home. Then she allegedly returned to him and confessed that she had strangled her daughter.
At the same time, the woman herself stated that her partner harassed the child. However, she denied the possible involvement of the man in the disappearance of the girl.
There is also evidence that in December 2020, seven children were taken away from the woman by the guardianship authorities, and the last one was left because of her age. The investigative department of the TFR for the Novgorod region opened a criminal case on the fact of the negligence of the guardianship authorities (part 1 of article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
A missing girl born in 2020 was reported on January 25. According to the mother, at the time of the disappearance of her daughter, she was washing clothes in the bathhouse, and the girl was sleeping in the house. The front door was not locked, however, according to the woman, the child could not go outside on his own in the cold.
On the fact of the incident, a criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Murder of a minor”). It will be transferred to the central office on behalf of the chairman of the TFR.
