In a small apartment, surrounded by clothes she no longer wore and looking for space to share with her husband, Cecilia Membrado had an idea that would transform her life and the lives of millions of people. This is how Renová tu Vestidor was born, a marketplace that leads circular fashion in Argentina and Chile. The premise: give a second life to garments in good condition, combining environmental awareness, savings and community.
“It started as a fair in my house and grew to what we are today: a team of 30 people, two markets and an average of two garments sold per minute,” recalls Cecilia, founder and CEO of the platform.
Renew your Dressing Room is not just a business, it is a movement that challenges fast fashion, the second most polluting industry on the planet. The production of one pair of jeans, for example, consumes 7,500 liters of water, equivalent to seven years’ human consumption. “Whether a garment remains folded or ends up in the Atacama Desert is a waste; Our mission is to give it a new opportunity,” says Membrado.
The platform has 2.5 million active users and a monthly average of 60,000 transactions. The profiles range from conscious buyers to resellers, to those simply looking to make room in their closets. During the pandemic, the site experienced a boom: many people, faced with the crisis, turned to selling clothing as a source of income.
“We have users who started selling as a hobby and now support their homes with what they earn on the platform. This impact motivates us to continue growing,” says the entrepreneur.
The company demonstrated that circular fashion can be a successful business model. Now, with its sights set on 2025, the platform plans to further revolutionize the market with the launch of RTV PRO, a program designed to empower new entrepreneurs.
“With RTV PRO anyone can start their business reselling clothing through our platform without the need for an initial investment. They will even be able to delegate the entire sales process and only receive the money from their profits at the end of the month,” Membrado details.
This initiative is aimed not only at those who want to sell their own clothing, but also at those interested in taking garments from third parties and managing the sale as intermediaries.. According to Cecilia, “many of our users started selling as a hobby and then turned this into their main source of income. RTV PRO is designed to accompany them and make their path easier.”
In this framework, technology and social interaction are pillars of the platform. “We are not just a marketplace, we are a community. Each user has a profile that works like a social network. You can follow those who sell, see reviews and share your findings,” explains Membrado.

Besides, Renew your Dresser integrates strategies such as live shopping, a global trend that will allow live broadcasts to show and sell products. This format, which will arrive in 2025, seeks to increase the connection between users and boost sales.
“We want our community to be the engine of change. That’s why we also added the dressing rooms of celebrities like Celeste Cid and Florencia de la V or Sofía Zámolo. They inspire people to join this trend,” adds Cecilia.
Additionally, each garment sold has a measurable impact. “We have a sustainable counter that shows the liters of water saved with each transaction. It is our way of making the change we seek tangible,” explains Membrado.
The truth is that the Argentine market poses challenges. From logistics to initial prejudices towards second-hand clothing, each step is a learning experience for the firm. However, the trend is unstoppable. According to Membrado, “the consumer is more aware and willing to support sustainable initiatives. “We see a change in the younger generations, who understand the impact of their choices.”
Globally, circular fashion is advancing with policies that promote recycling and sustainable design. In this context, Renew your dressing room is positioned as a pioneer in the region. “We have already sold almost three million garments since we started. Knowing that we are part of such a necessary change is an immense pride,” concludes Membrado.
