Speakers of the Expert Institute for Social Research (EISI) on Thursday, January 27, discussed trends and prospects for youth policy in Russia, and reviewed the results in this area.
The discussion was held within the framework of the round table “Russian Youth Policy: New Contours and Priorities”. The meeting was moderated by EISI Deputy Executive Director for Strategy and Forecasting Ekaterina Sokolova. At the beginning of the discussion, she noted that she was delighted with the new quality and relevance of the current youth policy.
Alexey Komissarov, General Director of the ANO “Russia – the Land of Opportunities”, also spoke at the event. On the example of this platform, he spoke about the work of the personnel lift system. The expert expressed disagreement with the position that this system in Russia does not work effectively enough. According to the speaker, sociological surveys, feedback from project participants, as well as independent ratings testify to the effectiveness of the personnel lift in the country.
“There are always some difficulties – individual, regional and others. But what happened in recent years has dramatically changed the situation. There is a whole range of structures, organizations, people who are actively involved in this work – these are the Sirius Educational Center, Rosmolodezh, the Knowledge Society, the Russian Movement of Schoolchildren, projects of the Russia – Land of Opportunity platform and youth programs of the ONF, ”leads his words press-service EISI.
Irina Pleshcheva, Executive Director of the Russian Movement of Schoolchildren, pointed out the importance of understanding the needs of young people in the context of the implementation of youth policy. She also noted that the current youth policy of the country is significantly different from the one that was 10 years ago. Now it is represented not just by institutions, but by entire aggregators of opportunities, the speaker emphasized.
“It is very important to be with the guys in the mainstream and do joint projects based on their ideas,” the expert added.
On September 2, the head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, Ksenia Razuvaeva, said that the Russian authorities are adhering to an approach in which they are moving towards understanding the new generation. According to Razuvaeva, this approach allows “setting trends” together with the youth.
