The Government continues working to free the gendarme kidnapped in Venezuela

This Thursday, while uncertainty continues over the whereabouts of the gendarme, the Government published official documentation showing that Gallo had received the authorization from the Nicolás Maduro regime to enter Venezuela for tourist and recreational purposes. After publishing the documentation, the Argentine authorities again demanded his release.

The document reported that Gallo would remain in Venezuela between December 7 and 30. In addition, it also detailed that the Argentine would stay in Puerto La Cruza, a city located 325 kilometers from Caracas.

Among the documentation presented by the Ministry of Security figure one letter of invitation to the country that María Alexandra Gómez García, the gendarme’s wife, presented to the Venezuelan authorities two weeks before Gallo began his trip. In detail, the Autonomous Service of Registries and Notaries of Venezuela certified the signatures and – as the papers show – authorized the request.

In the writing, he detailed: “My guest, previously identified, You make this visit as a tourist, for exclusively recreational and non-profit purposes. in the city of Puerto La Cruz.”

In this way, the national government demonstrated that the gendarme had not traveled to its territory for the purposes of espionage or terrorismreasons why the Maduro regime justifies its retention and incommunication. Argentine Foreign Ministry works on diplomatic efforts to obtain interlocutors and be able to achieve Gallo’s release.

Days ago, the Federal Chamber of Mendoza granted a habeas corpus presented by the National Gendarmerie and urged Venezuela to immediately report the situation and location of Gallo.
