Ken Xie is a Beijing-born electronic engineer who founded the companies Systems Integration Solutions (SIS), NetScreen, and Fortinet. He is currently the CEO of the latter, which is a cybersecurity company based in Silicon Valley. He had previously founded NetScreen, which was acquired by Juniper Networks for $4 billion in 2004.
In 1993 he founded System Integration Solution and three years later he built the first specific cybersecurity barrier based on the Firewall/VPN system that is still used today. All of this was developed in his garage in Palo Alto, California. That same year he created NetScreen Technologies, together with Yan Ke and Feng Deng.

Since 1993 he began a path in creation of security systems which was successful from the beginning. Firstly with System Integration Solutions, and 3 years later with its foray into the new ASIC (Application-specific integrated circuit) system.
In 2000, together with his brother Michael Xie, they created Fortinet to focus on Internet security from the user’s point of view and make it easier for them to avoid dangerous websites.
He is currently married and has a daughter, Jamie Xie, who works as an influencer on social networks and is also the main star in a Netflix reality show called Bling Empire. In 2020, Ken Xie entered the top 400 billionaires of Forbes magazine.
